TechChef4U: Now Serving
Lisa Johnson’s Summary
This is my first year as an Instructional Technology Specialist for NEISD. I received my Master Technology Teacher certification from OLLUSA in 2008 (undergrad from UT Austin: Hook ’em), taught 4 years of 7th Math/Pre-Algebra, and have certifications in elementary education, middle school mathematics, and all-level English/Language Arts.
Prior to this position, I was a Technology & Curriculum Director for Computer Explorers SA and surrounding areas. Throughout the years I have served in various leadership and mentoring roles and am very involved in curriculum planning, vertical alignment, developing assessments, and disaggregating data. I have had the pleasure of developing curriculum for NEISD, Somerset ISD, Region 20, and Computer Explorers and have designed and presented technology training at district, regional, and state conventions and conferences.
With a major in English, middle school math teaching experience, and my technology expertise, I am eager to integrate technology and literacy into the everyday school curriculum (see Geometry Valentine) while motivating students with unique real-world lessons and tailored activities. My passion for literacy, technology, and learning colors me as a resource to maximize student learning and promote students who are self directed global learners.
My love for “cooking up” technology integrated lessons, the need for a creative & productive outlet, and a social & collaborative venue led me to create this blog in early May of 2011. As a tech chef, I want to share these dishes with the world. Feel free to dine or just have a nibble. Tips & Comments are always appreciated. The Mumford & Sons song, Awake Your Soul, says it best “Where you invest your love, you invest your life.”
